Rosanna Leo’s Predator’s Fire, Book 5 in the Gemini Island Shifters series

predator'sfireoptI am thrilled to have Rosanna Leo here today sharing her newest book in her Gemini Island Shifters’ series. I have read all four of the previous books and loved them. I’ll be reading this one soon! Now, let’s hear from Rosanna as she shares about her newest paranormal romance, Predator’s Fire:

*****

“MATCHMAKING FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE?”

Thank you, Monette, for allowing me to visit and spend some time with you. I always love visiting.

I’m here as part of my blog tour to celebrate the release of Predator’s Fire, Gemini Island Shifters 5. This romance begins with a mystery. Human heroine Nina Suzuki comes upon her friend best Janine in very strange circumstances. I’m not giving too much away by saying Nina is forced to come to grips very quickly with Janine’s bizarre passing. All of a sudden, our plucky heroine is thrust into the world of shape shifters, never having dreamed they could exist.

Janine tells Nina to find the mysterious Killian Moon of the Ursa Resort on Gemini Island. According to her, he is the man with all the answers. Now Nina must convince the jaguar shifter hero to share his information about the world of shifters, in order to better understand why her friend died.

I never come right out and say it in the book, but I have a suspicion Janine might have been doing some stealthy matchmaking when she counseled Nina to seek out Killian. Perhaps she knew her human pal wouldn’t be able to resist his shifter charms. Perhaps she understood Nina needed a good man in her life. Perhaps she felt an enigmatic shifter man would be the one to help Nina experience new depths of pleasure.

Of course, Janine also understood Killian would be best equipped to save Nina in the coming battle with the villainous Alpha Brethren, a vicious cult of shifters determined to destroy the tranquility of Gemini Island. As a jaguar shifter, Killian possesses great strength, the ability to stalk his prey and the strongest bite of all the great cats.

Plus he’s also rather easy on the eyes.

Yes, in retrospect, I think poor Janine did Nina a great service in sending her to Killian. Their lives were changed for the better because of her matchmaking efforts. It was a final act of love from one friend to another.

I hope you have a chance to experience all the books in this series, and that Predator’s Fire finds its way to your TBR list.

Blurb:

When Nina Suzuki discovers the body of her best friend Janine, her world turns upside down. Things go from bad to worse when Janine’s corpse seems to transform into that of a large, brown wolf. For the first time, Nina is faced to confront all the clues indicating her BFF was not what she seemed. A letter from the dead woman opens Nina’s eyes to a strange, new world. The same letter warns of a sinister group called the Alpha Brethren, and urges her to find Killian Moon of the Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort on Gemini Island.

Killian Moon is a jaguar shifter and teen mentor at the Ursa Lodge in Northern Ontario. He may be a comfort and inspiration to confused teen shifters, but he also has a fiery past. His past comes back to haunt him when human Nina arrives at the resort, demanding to speak with him. Demanding answers. Can he trust her with knowledge that will not only change her life, but possibly endanger those around him?

As Killian begrudgingly tutors Nina on all things shifter, their mutual curiosity flares into passionate need. Once they touch, once they succumb to desire, there is no going back. Killian realizes Nina is his mate and they both begin to comprehend the terror threatening those on their shifter-friendly island. He is forced to confront the tragedy in his family and determines to protect Nina at all costs.

But can they protect everyone they love from a cult of dangerous shifters, intent on horror and destruction?

Excerpt:

“How much longer do I have to wait? I want to see Killian Moon. Now.”

The feminine voice, strangely soft despite its insistence, echoed deep in his being, awakening his jaguar. The great cat roared to life, turned toward the office and inhaled deeply. Its eyes flashed in interest.

In…recognition?

Killian breathed in at the same time, catching the scent of cherry blossoms through the door. The sweet perfume, mixed with human outrage, proved a heady distraction, making him forget why he was there. Shaking his head, he tried to dismiss the odd sensation as Ryland opened the door.

The door swung open and the first person he glimpsed was one of the clerks from reception, trying his hardest to placate the unexpected guest. “I’m sure Mr. Snow and Mr. Moon will be right back.”

And then his gaze landed on the petite human. Tapered Asian eyes, so dark and mysterious, but rimmed with circles of exhaustion. Smooth, cinnamon skin hinted at a mixed background. Wearing no makeup, she appeared younger than she must be, but her presence and keen eyes pegged her at around thirty years old. She had a riot of curly, black hair and feminine curves that ought to come with a warning. He could see it now. Beware: this woman’s body will cause insanity in men. Even as she gesticulated at the clerk, her boobs jiggled in such a way his throat went dry.

He pictured her in a corset, her breasts spilling over delicate lace edging, and almost forgot his name.

This Nina Suzuki was damn hot and his jaguar seemed to agree. The animal licked its lips, its golden gaze assessing and appreciating every detail, from her rounded hips to her come-hither rack.

Yes, the creature uttered on a frenzied breath.

Rosanna Leo’s Predator’s Refuge

Predator's Refuge Cover

I want to welcome my friend, Rosanna Leo to my blog.  She has a new book in her Gemini  Island Shifters series coming out today.  I love this series (um, shifters, people!!) and I know you will too.

*****

Thank you to Monette for hosting me today! I’m so excited to be here as it’s release day for me, and I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather share it with.

Release days are probably the most exciting days for authors. Certainly, they are for me. It’s the day all our hopes and dreams for a book become reality. I can’t think of anything more thrilling than these moments…unless someone were to tell me my heroes just turned real and are waiting for me in the bedroom! Not likely to happen, I suppose.

When I set out to write my Gemini Island Shifters books, quite frankly, I did not anticipate a series. However, my publisher wisely suggested I attach a series name to the first book, and voila, the series was born. Predator’s Refuge, today’s release, marks the third book in the series. In my opinion, it is also boasts some of the sexier moments in the franchise.

Why is this one so sexy? Well, in throwing together this particular hero and heroine, it really felt as if the sexual tension had been kicked up a notch. You see, my heroine, a lynx shifter named Marci, is experiencing her first heat. She could have sex at the drop of a hat! However, her sex-crazed spirit animal seems to be on the lookout for a specific man.

When tiger shifter Anton Gaspar arrives on the scene, all hell breaks loose. Not only does Marci have to contend with some very unwanted emotions and desires, Anton also becomes prey to his voracious tiger. However, Anton fights his attraction to Marci for some unusual reasons. Will he manage to stay away from her? Gosh, we hope not!

Predator’s Refuge is available at www.lsbooks.com and will also be available at Amazon, ARE, B&N, Kobo and other e-outlets.

Blurb:

Lynx shifter Marci Lennox has worked at the shifter-friendly Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort all her adult life. It’s more a home to her than a job. When her boss goes on vacation, putting her in charge, Marci is thrilled. Finally a chance to prove she has the mettle to run a resort.

Her confidence is shaken when new employee Anton Gaspar appears. One look at the mysterious tiger shifter spells trouble for Marci and for her sex-crazed lynx. Anton is judgmental, condescending, and a little misogynistic. Unfortunately, Marci’s lynx thinks his tiger is more delicious than an oversized bag of Maltesers.

It becomes difficult for Marci to remain neutral near Anton, especially when she learns of his troubling past and unusual family circumstances. However, when dangerous incidents occur on the resort, the lynx woman and tiger man join forces to combat the threat to the lodge and its guests.

Harder still is the quest to combat their explosive feelings for one another. As they explore their mutual passion, they realize the danger at the resort is more insidious than they ever envisioned. Their dreams, their love, and their very lives are at stake.

Excerpt:

The sliding doors swung open for him and he walked in, head high.

Immediately, the fragrance hit him, activating his Jacobson’s organ. He swallowed, tasting it on his tongue and at the back of his throat, and wondered if he was mistaken.

No, how could he mistake the unique scent of a female cat in heat? It was too delicious a scent to forget. Sweetness coated his taste buds, winding a delirious path down his throat. As his head swam, he blinked and tried to clear his thoughts of the sexual imagery racing through it.

The scent did not belong to another tiger shifter, but some other type of predatory cat. One whose perfume he hadn’t sampled before. One who must be particular to this region. Cougar? No. Mountain lion? Surely not.

Whatever she was, her scent teased him with its delicious flavor.

Don’t, he warned himself. Wasn’t it enough that he spent the last few years of his existence trying to escape the sick wiles of the grasping women at court? And God only knew how hard he’d worked to maintain a state of abstinence at Pannonhalma, devoting his life to meditation. He’d come here to work, not lose himself in a sweet piece of…

Stop it. This was no time to think of pussy, even though he’d never been more desperate for a taste of creaming woman.

His tiger howled inside him, hungry for that which it had been denied for almost two years.

Still the perfume, more intoxicating than any he’d known, wafted toward him. He wanted to close his eyes and drink it in. The unyielding power of the aroma could make him forget his vows. Granted, he wasn’t really a monk, but he had followed the monastic lifestyle from day one at Pannonhalma. The purity in the monk’s life had been the very thing he’d required to get his life back on track.

So why did he want to find the source of the scent and fuck her until she begged alternately for mercy and for more? Her need seemed strong. Whoever this lady cat was, she must be in dire agony for her scent to be so powerful.

None of his business.

Mentally caging the growling tiger inside him, he shook his head and approached the front desk. He dropped his luggage and cleared his throat at the woman working there. Her head had been down as she read some reports, but she looked up now.

“Welcome to the Ursa…” Her jaw fell open and her sentence hung in the air, unfinished and clearly forgotten.

Well, well. A beautiful little lynx.

The scent of desire emanated from her. Only now, it flourished under his gaze, increasing tenfold, if such a thing could be measured. Tendrils of teasing perfume waved around her body, blending into the golden brown highlights in her hair and winding their way around her hips and breasts. Exuding from her pores and sinking straight into his. Delicious, sensual saturation.

Anton’s heart raced and his tiger spotted its new prey. The animal licked its lips.

Rosanna Leo Interviews Soren Snow

Predator's Serenade I’d like to say a big thank you to my pal Moni for hosting me today! I’m here to promote my new release Predator’s Serenade, book 2 of my Gemini Island Shifters series. I know Monette likes bear shifters, so to thank her, I brought one along.

Monette, I believe you’ve met Soren Snow. (Turns to the big, blond bear shifter) Soren, play nice.

Soren: (eyes Monette with appreciation and smiles) I always play nice. I’ll play extra nice with Ms. Michaels, if she’ll let me.

Rosanna: (bites lip, hoping Monette’s blush isn’t one of mortification) Please excuse him, Moni. Soren can come on a little strong at first, but he’s all heart. Aren’t you, Soren? (elbows the bear shifter in the ribs)

Soren : (doubling over) Right. All heart. Anywhere else you wanna hit me?

Rosanna: (smiling sweetly) Not right now, thanks. Now you’re a bear shifter and a famed rock star. I’d imagine blending these two worlds isn’t always easy for you.

Soren: You could say that. For many years, I muzzled my inner bear, for lack of a better term. When he threatened to misbehave, I just channeled his energy into misbehaving in much more exciting ways. (Arches a brow and allows gaze to roam over Moni’s legs)

Rosanna:  Stop looking at my friend’s legs.

Soren: (throws up hands) What? I appreciate beauty. That’s all.

Rosanna : Well, you didn’t appreciate my heroine Gioia’s beauty too much at the start of Predator’s Serenade. What was it you called her? A “little owl of a woman?”

Soren : (snickers) Oh, I appreciated Gioia just fine. (Gaze warms over) I appreciated her a lot more than I was willing to admit at first. Luckily my bear straightened me out quickly. Let’s just say he was a bit more straightforward in his thinking than I was. When he saw Gioia the first time, it was all I could do to stop him from charging her in lust. It was hard to keep a lid on him.

Rosanna: Which brings me to another point! Why are bear shifters so stubborn? You and your brother Ryland from Predator’s Kiss seem to suffer from the same affliction.

Soren: The shifter will always harbor some traits from their animal. Bears are, well, not always the most warm and fuzzy creatures. We’ve been known to get a little, um, ornery.

Rosanna:  (smiling devilishly) And has Gioia helped you with that little problem since you’ve mated?

Soren: (narrows eyes at pesky author type) I’d like to think we help each other in many delicious ways that I will never share with you. If I tell you anything, you crazy woman, it’ll all end up in another book. See what happened the first time I confided in you? I became part of a paranormal romance series!

Rosanna: Oh, you’re loving every minute of it. If it weren’t for my book, we’d never be able to come visit with lovely people like Moni.

Soren:  (turns to hostess with inviting grin) Speaking of Moni, what is your situation, darlin’?

Rosanna: She’s married! And you’re mated!

Soren: Kidding. Just kidding. You know I adore my Gioia. I’d do anything for that woman. (Stretches his long legs and stands). In fact, if it’s all the same to you ladies, I think I’m going to go cater to that wonderful woman right now. Since we mated, she’s become insatiable and I aim to cash in on some of that action right now. (Kisses Moni on the cheek, gives Rosanna a high-five and heads out the door.)

Rosanna : (looks at Moni, who has fallen off her stool) Moni? Moni? Damn, I knew she liked bear shifters a little too much.

Blurb:

There are three things that make bear shifter Soren Snow’s skin crawl: mothers, their children, and the great outdoors. Soren is a famed musician and playboy, and he would rather spend his days pressing the flesh with the women in his fan club than developing meaningful relationships. When his brother calls in a favor, forcing Soren to revisit the Ursa Fishing Lodge in Northern Ontario, he couldn’t be more displeased. However, he owes his brother big time.

Gioia Clementine would rather not meet Soren, her drummer son’s rock idol. But when tragedy strikes her home, it seems the only one the boy might respond to is Soren. Gioia begrudgingly agrees to let her son meet him, hoping the rock star won’t turn her tween into a musical misogynist.

When Gioia and Soren meet, the sexual chemistry threatens to set the Ontario woodland ablaze. Can these two opposites find a common ground? And can they manage to resolve their unwanted feelings, even when a mysterious stranger arrives at the lodge, threatening everything?

Excerpt:

Gioia followed Soren’s approach with a curious eye. She’d wondered if the miracle kisser would beat a hasty retreat after witnessing her boy fall to pieces, and yet here he was. He wore the same famished look he had right before he’d ruined her for any other man’s kiss. And she felt it too. The tingles between her shoulder blade, the gelatin knees, and trembling lips that wanted to gobble him up.

She couldn’t. She didn’t want to saddle him with such a wreck of a woman or family.

He came right up to her, so close, as if making a mockery of the space that sought to separate them. Weaving his fingers through her hair, he cradled her skull and pulled her close. Tucking her head against his chest, he kissed the top of her head, blazing a trail of hot reaction down her spine. He had new clothes on and smelled fresh and clean. As she breathed him in, he rained soft kisses all over her head.

He knows.

She pulled away, suddenly terrified he’d think she was a travesty of a mother. It’s what anyone would think in his case. They’d wonder what Gioia had done wrong to create a monster child. But as she attempted to remove herself from his grasp, Soren fought her by holding her still. Again she tried jerking away from his wall of a chest. He held her firm.

When she tried two more times, each time unsuccessfully, he looked at her and shouted, “Dammit, woman, I am not letting you go, so you can stop pulling away from me!”

Something in Gioia broke. She’d been carrying her sadness around for so long, trying to be strong, and Soren was offering to be strong for her. For just a moment, maybe she could surrender. God only knew how badly she wanted to give herself to the bear man.

He grabbed her tighter, and his hands slid down to mold over her ass cheeks. His warm breath was all over her face, and she took a dizzying dive into the seas of his eyes. He ground her against him, and she was forced to stand on tip toes.

“Gioia,” he whispered.

She wound her arms about his tense neck, felt him tense further. Then … a sigh somewhere in his big frame and a relaxation in his muscles. As if he needed to have her wound about him. As if it soothed him as much as her.

“Soren. Please.”

As he kissed her, he picked her up, his hands under her bottom. Her miniskirt rode up, and she spared a second to mentally curse her decision to wear it. And then she didn’t care.

Kissing her madly, Soren spirited her into the woods.
